The Virtual Asset Transfer Fundamentals (VATF) Certification is designed for professionals involved in seizing and managing crypto assets, this course covers best practices for avoiding mistakes, maintaining access, and protecting the chain of custody. Through conducting practical exercises, you'll gain hands-on experience in creating wallets to perform your own crypto transfers.
Key Skills You'll Learn
Cryptocurrency Basics: Establishes a foundational understanding of how virtual assets work, ensuring all participants are starting from the same baseline.
Cryptocurrency Wallets: Learn how to create, manage, and secure virtual wallets, including how to generate wallets from existing seed phrases and the significance of derivation paths in wallet re-creation.
Interacting with Cryptocurrency: Develop real-world skills by sending and receiving testnet versions of well-known cryptocurrencies and minting an NFT. All while providing a safe environment to practice fundamental skills.
Asset Management and Standard Operating Procedures: Recognise the risks associated with moving virtual assets and explain when to move funds from a suspect’s wallet, chain of custody and list of approval steps, all of which can be taken into consideration for your own Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Certification Details
Duration: 12 hours total, spread across three days (four hours per day)

Certification Exam: Included in the course duration
Pass Rate: 75% required to earn certification
Prerequisites: None – no prior cryptocurrency experience needed
Software Requirements
Students will need a computer to participate in the course, complete practical exercises, and access online resources. This includes installing third-party software wallets.
